BACKGROUND
our torsos align by ryo sumiyoshi is a collection of one shots/short stories focusing on the various relationships between humans and monsters. naptam's story starts with a girl named hanna, who deals with a cheating fallout by going on a hunting trip in the amazon rainforest. when her boat gets struck by lightning and she gets injured, naptam saves her from drowning in the river and takes her to his home in a canopy nest. a language barrier and cultural differences in gestures leads naptam to believe that hanna wants to form a romantic pair with him. young, lonely and emotional, naptam falls in love with a human girl he barely knows and is determined to take her as his wife.
